Matt Bourcier began his research as a student in Eastern Virginia Medical School’s Master of Physician Assistant program from December 1999 until his graduation in 2001. He now serves patients in the Comprehensive Memory Center and at Tidewater Cove Assisted Living Facility. He received his B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech and has maintained certification as a Physician Assistant since 2001. His areas of interest include the diagnosis/management of diabetic neuropathies and neuroendocrine tumors. Matt is a strong advocate of both professional and patient education. His findings have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as The Journal of Family Practice, Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management, and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. He is an Associate Faculty Member of F1000 for Multiple Endocrine Disorders & Neoplasias and was a guest speaker at The American Diabetes Association convention in June 2009 in New Orleans.
