Scott S. Williams, MD, PhD
Radiation OncologyScott Williams, MD PhD has served as Vice Chair of EVMS Radiation Oncology since 2007 and is recognized by his peers and patients for his outstanding radiation oncology clinical skills, commitment to excellence and safety and empathy in all interactions.
Dr. Williams established the Cyberknife Stereotactic Radiosurgery program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in 2009 and served as its medical director until 2012. In 2013, Dr. Williams initiated high dose brachytherapy for breast cancer patients at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, where he currently serves as medical director of its radiation oncology program. He has previously served as medical director for radiation oncology programs at the Sentara Princess Anne Cancer Center as well as the Sentara Careplex Hospital.
With Dr. Mark Sinesi, Dr. Williams serves as a co-investigator on clinical trials through Alliance and NRG Oncology coalitions (formerly RTOG).
Dr. Williams believes cancer treatment is a team effort and includes the patient, other oncology physician colleagues, staff members and the referring and primary care physician(s) in each patient’s treatment plan. Every interaction is approached with the same dignity, respect, and compassion for which he is known.
