John Damon Allen, DO, MSPT is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He completed his osteopathic medical training at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Miami. Dr. Allen further honed his expertise through a fellowship in pain medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia.

Since 2011, Dr. Allen has had the privilege of helping military personnel and civilians in Hampton Roads in finding non-opioid pain solutions to improve quality of life and level of function. Dr. Allen’s robust career serving in both civilian and military capacities has contributed significantly to the field through various leadership and educational roles. His notable roles include staff physician at Sentara Pain Management Specialists and medical director at Bon Secours Neurosciences Center for Pain Management, where he focused on interventional chronic pain management and functional restoration.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Allen's military service includes positions as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and a Specialist in the Army, underscoring his dedication and leadership in both the military and civilian healthcare sectors.

Dr. Allen is a committed member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society. His ongoing pursuit of knowledge is evidenced by numerous continuing medical education activities and published research, ensuring he stays at the forefront of advancements in pain management and rehabilitation.
