Lauren L. Siewertsz van Reesema, MD

Lauren Siewertsz van Reesema, MD, is a native of Virginia Beach, VA and earned her Medical Degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA in May 2019. She went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY in June 2023. She then completed a two-year AAGL Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in July 2025, where she now serves as an assistant professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Eastern Virginia Medical School at Old Dominion University.

 

Dr. van Reesema is current member of AAGL and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has received several honors and awards including the 2025 AAGL Global Congress Golden Laparoscope Award for Best Surgical Video in Laparoscopy and 2025 Society of Gynecologic Surgeons President’s Award for Best Video Presentation, to name a few. She has published several peer-reviewed articles and presented at national meetings.

 

Dr. van Reesema’s clinical interests consist of complex benign gynecologic surgery, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, fibroids, and comprehensive pelvic ultrasound.
